In the world of Star Wars, characters with diverse personalities and work styles come together to shape the fate of the galaxy. The DiSC model, a tool for understanding differences in behavior and communication, offers a fascinating lens through which to analyze these iconic characters.
As a fan of both Star Wars and DiSC, I gathered a team of colleagues to assign DiSC styles to 15 famous characters from the franchise.
For those unfamiliar with the DiSC model, it's relatively simple model that offers four primary styles or work behavioral tendencies that people tend to exhibit: Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S), and Conscientiousness (C).
Please keep in mind that the DiSC style of a person (real or fictional) can change over time, and often does, people regularly opt to use different modes or styles. Skillful people often choose to act differently in different circumstances. (Additionally, please note that I'm aware of the criticisms of DiSC as an assessment tool (see for example, this article and this post). At the same time, I think the DiSC model is useful for a variety of purposes—for instance, helping people understand quickly and easily that "not everyone is like me"—and I use it regularly in coaching and team building situations.)

C-3PO

C-3PO focuses on maintaining stability and achieving reliable outcomes. He pays close attention to detail and often relies on traditional methods. His cautious approach suggests a desire for accuracy, and he adheres to rules and demonstrates a preference for orderly processes.
Chewbacca

Why did we choose this?
Chewbacca is known for his unwavering loyalty and dependability. He values stability and consistency, displaying patience and an accommodating nature. His modest demeanor suggests that he prioritizes supporting others. He rarely takes credit for his achievements.
Darth Vader

Why did we choose this?
Assertive and driven by results, Darth Vader desires power and control, and focuses intently on achieving his goals. He adheres to the Empire's hierarchy and rules, coupling this with an analytical mindset and strategic thinking. His behavior suggests a combination of a resolute approach and strict standards.
Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)

The Mandalorian values stability and seeks reliable outcomes. He demonstrates discipline and adheres to a precise set of standards, rarely deviating from the Way of the Mandalore. Finn

Luke Skywalker

R2-D2 is loyal and dedicated to his companions, consistently offering support and assistance. He demonstrates patience, adaptability, and a selfless nature, often prioritizing the needs of others. His optimism and uplifting presence reflect a blend of steadfast reliability and an agreeable demeanor. We found it fascinating that a robot is one of the most empathetic and human-oriented characters.
Rey

Strong-willed and confident, Rey readily takes on new challenges. Bold and action-oriented, she quickly adapts to new situations, passionately pursuing her beliefs and goals. Her engaging presence and impulsive nature suggest a blend of dominant and influential tendencies, as she inspires and influences others.
Yoda

Why did we choose this?
Yoda exemplifies wisdom, patience, and composure, even in the face of adversity. He values stability and reliability, consistently adhering to the principles of the Jedi Code. His thoughtful consideration of consequences and methodical approach to teaching reflect a combination of a steady demeanor and a focus on achieving rational outcomes.
